I've learned a lot about curls from your blog :) Now I just have to find the time to do it! I was wondering what you can suggest for my kiddos?? Is there a product that works best? Is just Extra Virgin Olive Oil the best for little ones? Help :-)
With my little one I’ve been using Safflower oil ($4 in your grocery store/EVOO section). It’s a lighter oil than EVOO so it doesn’t weigh his curls down and it has the same fatty properties that our natural hair has. I just run that through his hair and detangle, then I add a tiny bit of the Ecostyler gel for hold. It leaves his hair pretty soft. The looser the curl, the less product you want. For those kinky curls, they require a bit more :-) There are a zillion products out there, but I find this to be the most cost effective right now! Also try organic coconut oil ($8 at Vitamin Shoppe) or pure raw shea butter (Amazon). Both can be used as a skin moisturizer :-)
